Rachel has learned to write her name

I started teaching Rachel about a week and a half ago to write her name. She had the R down pat and was writing R's on everything. Every time she brought a paper home from school or church, there were R's all over them. She finally got the rest of it and is now writing her name. So proud!

Thanksgiving

I didn't do a very good job with pictures this year for Thanksgiving. This is the only one I got. This is Rachel at Bass Pro Shops Thanksgiving morning. We went there early and then to Curt's aunt's house with Curt's side of the family. We had my side's Thanksgiving the Saturday before. We had a great time with both families.

My first smocked dress

A lady in our church started a smocking class on Sunday nights so I decided to go and at least try it out. After the first class, I decided that I didn't have the time or the patience to smock a dress. The girls there encouraged me to stick with it so I decided on a Christmas dress for Rachel. I picked an easy pattern that didn't have much stitching to make sure I would be finished in time for Christmas. When my Nana passed away in February, I was lucky enough to get all of her thread she used for embroidery. I used her thread to stitch the dress.

Rachel loves her dress and can't wait to wear it to go see Santa.

Our church didn't have a fall festival this year so we took Rachel to a few friends and family members house. She is trick or treating at Gran's house in the pictures above.

We went to Tennessee for the day to see my mom's side of the family. It was the first reunion since Mamaw passed away in January and Nana passed away in February. We had a great time seeing each other. As you can see from the pics, the family is huge. There were several who didn't make it. We don't see each other much, but when we get together, it's like no time has passed. There are usually, however, a few more added to the bunch each time we get together.

We went to the Pumpkin Patch in Hayden with my family and friends. We had a great time! Rachel couldn't decide which pumpkin she wanted. After she picked up four or five, she decided on a white one. She liked all the jumping things but Curt didn't. He said she was getting trampled by the big kids but she didn't mind it at all. She really liked the pony ride also.

My Pretty Girl

Rachel looked so cute the other day that I just had to take her picture. After I took the first one, she wanted to pose for the next one. She then wanted to take a picture of her baby.

Last week at Mrs. Pat's, they had team color day. We had to go buy Rachel a new shirt since she has outgrown hers from last year. We also bought a new bow but you can't see it. She was very excited. Go Tigers!

Emily's 7th Bday Party

Emily had her 7th Birthday party at Build A Bear this year. Each child got to pick out an animal of their choice and give it a heart, a bath, and pick out clothes for it to wear. Rachel had already decided she was going to get a cat before we got there. She stuck to what she wanted and picked a tabby cat and named her Katie. They all had a great time. I can't believe Emily is 7 already!
