It's a Boy!

Our little guy's name is Jacob Payne. He is named after Curt's grandfather, Harry Payne. Jacob's heart rate was 145 during the sonar and he weighs 11 ounces. Rachel told me she thought it was a boy the morning before the sonar. She just wishes we would name him Samuel. We are all very excited. I have to admit I am a little nervous, not sure what to do with a boy after almost 5 years of girl. Thursday, January 21, 2010
Other things
Sorry I haven't posted in a while. The holidays really got me this year.
Curt finished the Paramedic program on December 15th with an overall GPA of 3.97. We are so proud of him! He took the national registry test a couple weeks ago and passed it so he is now a Nationally Registered Paramedic. He took both tests for the Jefferson County Personnel Board and is waiting for the ranks to come out in February. Most fire departments in the county use this test to hire so we are hoping for great results.
Pregnancy update---at my appointment on January 6th, at 16 weeks, I gained 9 lbs! Whoa! I was not expecting a number that big so early in the game. I started feeling the baby move right around 16 weeks and Curt felt it the first time this week. I am now 19 weeks and will have a sonar on January 27th to find out if we are having Jacob or Addyson!

Christmas Eve & Christmas Morning
Throwing out reindeer food
All Rachel asked for this year was a Nintendo DS. Curt thought she was too young for it but that was the only thing she asked for. She did say the only other things she might need are clothes and shoes. She was so sure she was getting it that before Christmas even came she would ask if she could buy DS games. We would reply that she didnt have one and she would say "Well I'm getting one for Christmas" When she got up Christmas morning (1st pic) she immediately grabbed the DS bag. She searched and searched through it and was sad for a minute when the DS wasnt in there. She didnt see it sitting a few inches away from her but when she did she was so excited! For the other stuff she got she replied with "Mommy, look at all this other stuff Santa brought me and I didnt even ask for it" She was so sweet. Another great Christmas spent with family and friends.

Thanksgiving in Gatlinburg
Rachel rode go carts for the first time and loved it! We went to Cades Cave, played putt putt, build a bear, shopped, movie night, etc. And of course ate at the Old Mill and got my caramel apple with nuts from Aunt Mahalia's. Curt begged Rachel to go to the aquarium but she replied with "It's just a bunch of fish"
We had a great time!
