Jaxsons 2nd Bday & Broccoli

We went to Lisa's son's birthday party. Jaxson turned two! He's such a little miracle. Lisa made his cake and did a wonderful job. There's a story behind this last picture of Rachel. If you'll see all that's on her plate at a birthday party is broccoli. A few years ago we were at a chinese restaurant and everyone was getting ice cream after we had our meal. We asked Rachel if she wanted some and she replied with "No, I'll have more broccoli." She does not like cake or ice cream so she had broccoli at the party. I did, however, get some strange looks from other mothers. They probably thought I was a terrible mother for making my child eat broccoli at a birthday party while I had a big piece of cake and ice cream on my plate.Thursday, March 26, 2009

Curt, Me, Aaron, Mama, Daddy, Grandmama, Rachel, & Granddaddy
We went to Gatlinburg last week for about a week and stayed with my parents, along with my grandparents. It rained the whole way up there and the first two days but after that we had nice weather and had a great time. Anytime we left the cabin to go do things, Rachel would say "I want to go back to Gatlinburg" We would tell her we were in Gatlinburg and she would say "no, Gatlinburg with the hot tub" She loved the hot tub! She also became very comfortable there telling us all the things she had there in "her room". We had a great time with everyone. Thanks Mama & Daddy for letting us "crash" your vacation!

Youth Fine Arts Competition
I wasn't sure how Rachel would do for the whole day but she loved every minute of it. She liked hanging out with the big kids and listening and watching all of the singing. She never got ill or tired.
Five of our six groups moved on to State competition which will be held in April in Alabaster.

Today we went to visit Madelyn and her new baby sister, Aida. We took them to the park and had a great time. After we got back, they played dress up and with baby dolls.
